Subject: First House
When your parents came to Huddersfield, do you remember where they lived?Yeah, I remember our first house. It was in Lockwood, we lived there until I was about 12 years old. It was a little house, back to back- the toilet was in the cellar outside where you had to go down the steps.
Which school did you go to?
My first nursery was on Newsal Road, right opposite the house. Was it called Thornton Lodge nursery, or was it just Lockwood nursery? After that, we went down to Lockwood again, Mount Pleasant nursery, and then Mount Pleasant Junior School. But before I went to Mount Pleasant Junior School, they used to have an annex as well on Victoria road, I remember the teacher still to this day: Mrs Ramsey, she had big hair and used to wheel me about in the pram. After Mount Pleasant Junior School I came over to Moor End Highschool in Crossland Moor.
