Mohammad Haq
Mohammad Haq came to Huddersfield in 1968 at the age of 14 and went to Spring Grove School, which was then a school for international students to learn English, where he was amazed to see the mix of South Asian cultures at the school. Mohammad Haq found speaking English embarrasing as he was afraid he would get the words mixed up, but through encouragement he found the confidence to take his 11 plus. Mohammad Haq is now a qualified solicitor and has his own firm in the Springwood area of Huddersfield. He reminisces about being captain of the school football team and enjoyed being selected for sports during his school and college years.
